Pankov: new approach on the castle ruins

Pankov: new approach on the castle ruins

2021, master degree diploma

The theme of the project was the adaptation of the historic remains of the castle and farm buildings in Panków (Poland) into a hotel facility. The project was inspired by the slow life philosophy in the context of returning to nature – in the design of buildings and their interiors for hotel purposes. The main idea was to create a hotel space with rooms, a dining room for guests and a cafe. The concept also assumes slow life relaxation in the designed library, a lobby with a glass ceiling and an open patio, as well as on the observation deck, surrounded by nature and water areas. Adaptation in the field of architectural works assumed leaving the existing stone and brick walls and designing new tissue according to modern solutions and standards and with the use of modern materials such as glass, steel or corten.
